new! april 2022 - autism and mobility issues
Afternoon!
Hi i am new! I am looking at booking for april 2022. We have 10 - 12 days but likely only to spend 3 days at disney as my son has autism and I use crutches to mobilise and anymore would be too much for either of us. We are planning on spending the rest exploring florida but obviously it is huge! Cant decide whether to book a few days at disney then a villa towards sarasota area or whether to just stay the full amount at disney area and drive elsewhere. Any advice appreciated! We are on a very tight budget too! |

Hello, nice to 'meet' you. I'm sure someone will be on soon to answer your questions, but thought I's kick off with asking if you're aware that you can 'rent' points to stay at a Deluxe Disney resort for about the same price as a Moderate.
Hope you all have a wonderful time whatever you decide |

Hi rjh090384 Are you responding to my post?
If so have a look at this site, it will give you an idea how it works: dvcrequest/dvc-guests/rental-process Or there's a forum on here where DIBB DVC owners rent out their points: https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=166 Read the sticky at the top of the page. Good luck |

Hi. Welcome to the dibb.
Both my sons have autism and we found that before our first visit watching YouTube videos really helped them to know what to expect. We made lists of all the rides at each park and watched POV videos for them so they knew exactly what to expect. They then chose which rides/experiences they wanted to do and which they thought they wouldn’t like. Helped them to feel secure and excited about going. Lots of planning lol but we had an amazing first visit. Have you thought about hiring a mobility scooter? We did this for my Dad when we took him. He doesn’t use one at home but wouldn’t have coped with all the walking. Easy to do, was dropped off and picked up from our villa. Happy planning 😊

Thank you I'm already getting myself in a villa tangle. How do you know you aren't being taken in by a scammer!
