What advice would you give to your 25 year old self?

Doing a fair bit of self reflection. If you could give your 25 year old self some advice what would it be?

Go and find your old girlfriend. We were seeing each other for almost four years, until I was 21. By the time we were both 25, her marriage was in serious trouble: two daughters and with a violent alcoholic for a husband. I could have rescued her. Instead, I had to wait for years until we met again, by accident on a tube station. We have been married for 12 years now and it could have been so many more

I always told my children don’t get married or start families until 25 and over Go to parties, go to gigs, travel and get some life experiences and enjoy your young lives. There’s plenty of time to settle down with bills, families and all the responsibilities that will come.
That’s exactly what my 4 have done .I know things happen and it’s not for everyone but it’s pretty good advice .

I agree. I remember my older son (aged around 23) asking us for advice. He had been given a decent bonus at work and wondered if he should put it towards a deposit for a flat or travel (he was allowed to take unpaid leave). We advised travel. I think this surprised him lol! He travelled all round the world for nearly a year. He still managed to buy a flat eventually.

My husband and I married young and we now say we were older then than we are now. We were way too responsible but having said that I wouldn’t do anything differently. No regrets.
