21 day tickets

does anyone think the disney 21 day tickets will come back at all for 2022?

No idea, but I really hope so. I think there�s still a demand for them and it keeps people in the Disney bubble for longer. We�d planned to go for 3 weeks next year, but if they don�t bring them back we�d only go for 2. Not paying for 7 day tickets on top of the 14 day tickets!

I have absolutely no insider knowledge or anything even remotely like that, so this is just a guess, but I suspect the 21 day tickets won't be back for 2022. The 2022 tickets are already on sale and 21 day tickets are not listed.

Clearly Disney had some reason for removing them and it doesn't seem to be due to the coronavirus restrictions. Perhaps more due to their IT systems and apps being based on a 14-day validity period. Whatever the reason, I doubt that decision will change. But who knows!

I can see it one of 2 ways but neither of which will help 2022.
1. For the anniversary year it's easier for them to manage as no ticket exists that hasn't the same restrictions as a US equivalent
2. Gradual phase out of "non-standard" passes & back to the old way of everyone having the same, but that still leaves a gap in the market between a 10 day & an AP, possibly an extension on the 10 day to a 21 day validity?

We are looking at going in 2024 (hopefully by then everything will have settled down! )
We are wanting to go for 21 days, but pricing up 2x 14 day tickets is almost as much as the hotel and flights!

The other option is staying at Universal for the first week and knocking that out, before going to WDW for the 14 days and their 14 day ticket - this is a lot cheaper but we really wanted to do 21 days in WDW!

Surely the 21 day ticket was popular otherwise it wouldn't have been able to be purchased for so many years pre COVID! (like the DDP)

If they can reach capacity selling more expensive shorter duration tickets then why wouldn't they. Popularity of the longer tickets only really applies if they were struggling to get people there.

They may well use this year to see if they need to reintroduce them.

Welcome to the DIBB!

First, if you're going in 2024 then you still have a couple of years to wait. Disney may decide to bring the 21 day tickets back in that time. Although the signs seem to suggest the removal is permanent.

I'm not sure why they chose to remove it and it doesn't make a huge amount of sense. If there were people willing to pay more for a 21 day ticket and it meant those people would spend more days in the Disney parks then I can't see why Disney would get rid of it. But I'm sure Disney must have their reasons.

We don't really know how popular the 21 day ticket was though. It's possible that sales of those tickets might have been declining over recent years and therefore Disney decided to remove it and focus on the 14 day ticket instead? Just because something has been around for several years doesn't mean it's still popular.
