Any one good at advanced maths?

Hey! My son is really struggling with this problem...he is revising for advanced maths, but I can’t help him.

If you understand this, could you by any chance help me? Thank you!

Complicated question
Me and my son took a look and he said it’s asking him to work out the angles of E C and B

Not sure how to actually work them out though
Has he been given a formula?

I’m not really sure and I don’t think DS understands at all. I wish I could help him, but maths isn’t my strong point at all 😂
I’ve told him that we are looking for angles though (thank you!) and it gives us something to Google!

It’s also telling him that the shapes either side - front and back are the same and all the others are rectangles - so 90 degree angles

Ds has applied to do further maths A level

Wow! I don’t think my son is opting for A level maths lol!
He’s currently using Pythag though, so thank you for the prompts!

I am completely useless at Maths but my daughter 16 has provided the following explanation and answer. She says you need to find all the lengths for the triangle ECB and then use the cosine rule

To find the length of CE you use Pythagorus in the triangle CDE
Which gives you 7.2

You then need to find the length BE to do this you use the triangle EAF and BEA

You need to use pythagorus in the triangle EAF to give you the length EA which you then use for pythagorus in the triangle BEA

The length of EA is 4.5

Use that in the triangle BEA and do pythagorus to find the length of BE which is 9.5

You then have all the lengths of the triangle ECB so can use and rearrange the cosine rule to calculate the angle which I got to be 112
