Covid extended points question
Hi, hoping someone on here can advise as I’m getting absolutely nowhere with member services!
We cancelled our 2021 booking due to covid, and after a bit of discussion member services extended our 2019 use year points until 31 May 2022, advising that the transaction would be completed (and show in our account as June 2021 use year) in the first week of our normal 2021 use year, which is 1 December. That is pretty useless in terms of being able to make a booking before 31 May 2022 because of how long we’re looking to go for, but we can use our banked 2020 points along with our new use year points and borrow some from 2022 to just about cover what we need. My question to member services was then, if I do that will you adjust the points allocation on my booking when those 2019 points are allocated to my account (likely in December) to use those older points and give me back the equivalent I have used from 2021 use year and borrowed from 2022 use year. Their response was that’s a really good question which they can’t answer right now but if I call after those 2019 points have been transferred in they will see what they can do. Worried here that I’ll be left with 138 points which by that time I will be able to do nothing with if they decide not to help. Has anybody else been in this situation / had this conversation with member services and if so did you get the same response or more joy than me? Thanks in advance. |

I not only spoke to MS via chat but on the phone and was advised if we need to use older points first that it would be possible we however are a June use year. The lady on the phone confirmed it with a supervisor and it has been noted on our file.
However since then we sold all our 2019 points so will not now require this to be done.
