Different airline tests

Now the different airlines are starting to reveal companies they've partnered up with for covid tests there's obviously a bit more choice and difference in price however I'm just wondering do you have to purchase your tests from the companies your flight provider is signed up with? Can we for example use virgins test providers if flying with Tui etc

It depends if the airline request you enter your ref flight number to book. At the moment TUI are the cheapest, whether they are asking for flight details who knows. Either way I wouldn’t be booking any test until near departure date as rules are changing regularly.

I’m booked with tui to go away end of august, i was having a look at the tests they offer and I had to put in booking reference to buy but it does tell me to buy about a week in advance. I hope they stop doing the lateral flow tests before boarding to UK that’s the one I’m worrying about.

Easyjet (well randox the provider they have chosen) currently don't need a booking ref, just the disocunt code on the Easyjet website.

This might change, but Randox have similar deals with many other organisations so I suspect it's just their "new" price

I don't think you use a TUI test of you haven't got a package holiday booked with them as it's booked via logging on to your booking on their website.

BA to trial 25 second COVID Test

British Airways has announced it will be the world's first airline to trial a coronavirus test which produces results within 25 seconds.

The pilot scheme will see flight and cabin crew taking a Pelican Covid-19 antigen test from medical tech company Canary Global.

Results will be compared against their standard test results.

British Airways chief executive Sean Doyle described the test as a "gamechanger" and said the airline would explore what role it could play in customer testing after the trial with flight and cabin crew.

"As we start to see the opening up of travel we remain committed to exploring easy and affordable testing solutions to help our customers travel again, whether it's for business, to reunite with family and friends or take a much-needed break abroad," he said.
