Clemmie is a hoot - at age 3 herding sheep back to the field after the gate had been left open, running thro the gate in her pink coat/wellies whilst mumbling under her breath, 'the little b*ggers', and promptly telling Amanda how she'd encouraged them out of the yard with grain in the shovel spoon, and how her mam had to keep the gate closed! They'll have a go at owt, pulling out lambs, not bothered one iota about getting sticky - Clem makes me smile when she wears her tutu dress whilst working on the farm. Such happy bairns who don't make demands and are so happy with their life.

Also Clive... 'aww, bloody hell Amanda, sheep are in't 'ouse'

We often had a run out that way on the moors when ma and pa lived in Barny (ma is a Startforth lass, just outside Barnard Castle). A lovely couple, in Kirby Stephen, used to prepare the best fish and chips we've eaten, plus the magnificent High Force, Herriott Country and Wesleydale cheese - altho not so often, we still enjoy taking a run over The Tops as we call it to enjoy the moors. We have some magnificent countryside up here.

Chris it’s such a lovely tv show. You are right about the kids. Just so funny some of the things they say and do. Scenery is magnificent. We lived near Richmond and would often have a day out over the Moors . It’s making me so home sick.

Like you will have Jo, we've driven those moors thousands of times and it's always unique, always different - enjoy the peewit and curlew calls, the ample amount of red grouse, the heather, never tire of it and can see why the Owen family are so happy on their farm, all that open space for the bairns to enjoy without Amanda/Clive worrying where they are.

Altho our beloved da won't be with us, we'll be off out across the moors with ma this summer, I was so disappointed we never got him out at all last year afore he passed in June, especially as May's weather was canny - loved our trips out, as did da until he forgot a couple of hours later, he was serene, looking over the moors or the north sea atop of Noses Point.

Feel so envious of your trips to the moors. That fresh air will do you the world of good, and da will be with you all as well.

I only discovered this towards the end of the last series. It's great! Such a breath of fresh air. (Literally and figuratively. )
