Cheapish meal options off-site

Hi!
It's been a fair few years since we haven't had the joy of the dining plan and holy cow, when you are considering paying OOP those Disney prices can be eye-watering. Of course we will have some meals in the parks but since we've also got a car this time, we are going to head outside for meals too.
We aren't too fussy and even McDs will likely be an option but where are some places that aren't too expensive and not too far from property?
Ideally, I would be looking at under $50 for a a family of 3, 2ad and 1 child aged 11.
Thank you for any tips! The days of booking up every character meal for the DDP are long behind us :-(
Janine

The Outback, Cracker Barrel (really good value) and Olive Garden are some of our favourites.

We've also enjoyed Chili's, Perkins, Denny's, Bob Evans, Longhorns etc...there are loads. If you can eat earlier then many places will be cheaper at 4 or 5pm. We prefer to eat later and will have cocktails but very rarely spent more than $100, dinner for 4 with cocktails and desserts. So, you could easily eat for $50 if you're eating at a happy hour time or not having an alcoholic drink.

Also, we quite often buy deals on groupon and travelzoo, you need to keep looking to see what’s on offer and I’m not even sure any will be available this year, but we have had deals for Senor Frogs - not the best but ok, CiCi’s pizza - ok for a quick fill up and very cheap even without a groupon, Hash House a GoGo - very good and massive portions. You might see others too.

We sometimes buy e-gift cards in the run up to the holiday, nice to have some meals already covered, even if you have had to pay prior to your trip.

To add to others already mentioned, we quite like Steak and Shake and they are very reasonable. Also if you see a Twistee Treat stand they sell delicious ice creams and sundaes etc and we always visit at least a couple of times during a trip, usually on the way home from a park in the evenings.

I would recommend signing up to restaurants email clubs for savings.
Perkins do bogof every Wednesday and 20% off on Thursday's.
The eat and play card is also good value at around £12 which offers 10/20% off a number of restaurants.
