Wash them when you get home, just like in the good old days.
Supermarkets sell rolls etc and do it via tongs, so I'm sure a similar thing could be done with fruit and veg.

How much washing and in what?

I bought a lovely punnet of black grapes and washed them under the tap. Before I put another plastic box in the plastic bin, I noticed they were from India.

Should I be worried? They are saying ‘Eat Me’ every time I pass the fruit bowl.

Genuine question .
Why can’t they just stop making plastic bottles /packaging etc?
I think there’s evidence to show it’s already entering the human food chain .

Well I guess it depends what you're worried about. If its pesticides I'm not entirely sure to be honest. But if it's general air-borne covid stuff, then sing happy birthday while you're washing it!

Prior to pandemic a main target of Extinction Rebellion was supposedly calling for supermarkets to stop buying meat and dairy from New Zealand.
Supposedly Jacinda Ardern is supportive as part of her green agenda.
NZ is two thousand miles from nearest export market.

That is your opinion, and thank god we are ALL allowed opinions and humour. Mine was a joke at the expense of another person with no malice only a dig at them, this has been the basis of jokes for hundreds of years and will carry on for hundreds more. People like Jimmy Carr make a very good living out of it.
