Covid test £240 per person

Reading an article in tabloid paper and it's showing £240 per person for the covid test per holiday

This if true is going to put a lot of families off going

This is a list of providers and prices on the GOV website.

gov.uk/guidance/provider...ional-arrivals

Add on the fact/cost you need a test before travel too.

What about just the one test if the country is green?

So you only need the day 2 test for green. One company I looked at was £190 for the Amber day 2 & 8 tests but still £140 for the single day 2 test.

I believe so. Plenty of time for the US to go green!

£140 for a single test? Someone in the government is making a fortune and mugs out of the general public!

I'm hoping other travel companies take the same stance:

Britain’s biggest holiday firm announced in early May it would be offering PCR tests for just £20 for its customers, in an effort to make summer holidays more affordable.

Tui, which has partnered with provider Chronomics, will sell a range of tiered Covid test packages to customers travelling to “green” and “amber” destinations this summer.

Tui’s testing packages start at £20 for green list travellers who require just a pre-departure lateral flow test and a PCR test on arrival.

I read this also, imo the airlines may have to take a hit and help out travellers as £240 each will price a lot of people out. Im getting to the point now whereby the negative news and the constant stress is kind of making me hope the holiday doesnt go ahead. The hassle is seriously making me doubt whether it will be worth it or not.

ill pay for 1 PCR test each once we get home, anything more than that and i think ill refuse to pay it.

Please explain to me how someone in the government makes money out of this? I don’t understand.
