We've stayed at both a few times and we're split. DH would pick SSR and I would pick AKL.
The proximity to DS (we like to stay at Congress Park) changes the whole structure of the holiday. But having a giraffe outside your balcony is just something that will never fail to amaze me.

Uni it's about 2.5 miles although I'm surprised it's that far: walk up to big Disney sign at Crossroads, turn left, crossover where Olive garden is & probs 10 mins further up on right: TBh we walk it all the time & then uber back. 56 mins we are walking to the Outlets

Thank you ☺️
Is the commission for the company you are selling through? What is Firpta & notary fees, I have never heard of those. I know when buying there are closing costs but I am not aware of any other costs 😬😬 If we bought at GF the resale would be a significant factor because its such a big initial cost so I would hope to get that money back. The AKL & SSR are half the price and given I have booked (possibly cancelling if we buy DVC) AK for £6 albeit with DDP we would be quids in after 2-3 visits, that’s including the annual fees. If that makes sense 😍 |

I really think both resorts would suit us in many ways, what a third world problem to have ☺️ I know we are incredibly blessed ☺️

I’m probably biased as own at ssr but for me it’s has so much to offer not just being at Disney. I purchased with the knowledge that we won’t do the parks every trip. SSR has so much to offer, fab community hall, table tennis, table football, pools are excellent. Plus boat to Disney springs. And you are also quite close to all the new restaurants up palm parkway.
I find AKL all a bit dark and while it does have good food options you have to go off site for anything else. However we are just closing on a copper creek contract. If you are taking about price vs contract length plus potential rental in can’t be beat. We got 100 for $115. Ultimately though, buy were you would be happy to stay. |

We’re looking to buy an SSR contract next year. We’ve chosen this because:
1. Cost - significantly cheaper resale than other resorts (and can of course still stay at the other resorts if available) 2. We spend a significant amount of time at Disney Springs and will happily do no parks trips and still spend lots of time at Springs then 3. Golf course on site is a perk 4. It’s stunning and can do some lovely walks (again, the walk to Springs is a real seller!) I’d love to stay at AKL for a few nights but I’m not sure I’d want to be based there for 2 weeks - it’s a little remote for me.
