Tapu Tapu and Photopass?

I've pre bought the Universal Mardi Gras Annual photos special. I know I can get the email I received redeemed at Volcano Bay which will be our first Universal park. We are going for early entry and I don't want to waste that hour getting the the Photopass sorted first. Does anyone know if I can get photos first whilst wearing a Tapu Tapu and get them added to my Photopass later on? I hope that makes sense

I don't think this will work- they would have no way to link the photos to you- in the park they can give you a paper code which I'm assuming you could then add but not in a water park.

Can they not link via the tapu tapi like the magic bands know at Disney when you've been on a ride? Or are they not that clever?
