Manatees

Here now. Where would be a good place to see Manatees at the moment?
We don’t swim or kayak.
Thank you.

We saw one just bobbing around the marina at north port richey. The power station crystal river is good.

Blue Springs State Park. Check the website for a number to ring to get an update. When we went, we had great views of five manatees.

We have consistently seen manatees at the overlook at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. If you do the Blackwater Drive it's $10./car. You can also buy a refuge and national parks pass for not too much. My senior citizen life pass was $10. We have been a half dozen times at least and a couple in August. They will swim right up to the overlook.

It is also a good place for birds and alligators. The Nature Center offers free and low cost (under $5.) nature programs-walks and talks.

We head to Tampa Power Station to see the Manatees. The numbers depend on the water temperature in the Gulf.
The Power Station has a webcam, so you can check the numbers before you set off... and it’s Free !
