Dolphin Watching - Florida West Coast
Hi all,
As part of our forthcoming road trip, I am looking to incorporate a bit of dolphin watching whilst travelling down the west coast. We will be collecting our car from the Disney car center, heading out to Clearwater for a spot of lunch, then heading down the west coast, finishing up at our hotel in Fort Meyers later that evening. Could anyone suggest a good location and company to contact for Dolphin watching? Have been looking at Clearwater, but we are totally open to other locations on route down. Thanks in advance. |

Excited about Disney

Little toot at clearwater was fun. The dolphins chase the boat.
Or our favourite was coastline excursions from anna-maria area. Not guaranteed dolphin sightings but we saw plenty, and seemed more natural sightings than little toot. Also saw a couple of manatees, highly recommended. Both are easy to find on Google.

We did Little Toots in October. We really enjoyed it and good value or money.

Another thumbs up for Little Toot - we had dolphins playing in the wake of the boat and we also saw and mother and baby. The playing dolphins were so close to the boat, it was fantastic!

I think your best chance of seeing Dolphins is with a boat trip from Clearwater, those trips are pretty successful. They are other boat trips further down the coast probably even Fort Myers, but they cannot give you a 100% guarantee.
It is great to see Dolphins in the wild but it is more luck than judgement. I tend to have more chance an hour or so before sunset. Hank |

Thanks for the suggestions so far.
I have contacted seascreamer as their website is showing zero availability during the summer? Just waiting to hear back if this is actually correct? Also had a look at little toot which looks great also, but we may struggle on timings. |

We have been watching dolphins today from the beach at Fort Myers. Bowditch Point which is just down from Fort Myers pier had a great display of dolphins, they came to within 10 yards of where we were standing 😎😎😎
