It's by Permit Only! Max 30 Persons a day go early to get a day permit!

You can look at our trips:

First visit: oldersom.nl/blog/dag-3-de...ka-state-park/

Second visit: oldersom.nl/blog/dag-21-m...the-deep-hole/

It doesn't get any better !
If you have questions... shoot!

Rick
Thanks

It looks like quite a big lake. Is there a particular area we should be headed to? Assuming we can't get there early enough to visit the deep hole.

Used to give us the creeps when we were crossing Lake Jessup, just knew there were alligators lurking there waiting . . .
Remember reading a report of night fishermen having been eaten by the gators.😱☠️

Thanks. Sorry for the daft question, but where should I be heading to for the gate?

Should also ask how you view things. Is it somewhere you drive through or is there visitor paths (that are kid friendly)

You can get permits for the deep hole at the entrance of the Myakka State Park. The entrance to the Deep Hole will be provided with you're permit, where to drive and a gate code! Then you have to walk 2.2 miles to the Deep Hole, deep into the real florida!

You can search with youtube " The Deep Hole Myakka"

In the Myakka State Park itself you can drive and make several stops and look at the Gators! Don't forget to walk the Canopy Walk it provides a sky-high view at Myakka !

Looks like we probably won't head that way. My wife said it was less than an hour away. Just looked at the map! It's 120 miles away. Probably a bit far with two kids

Driving over Lake Jessup is one thing I miss about Sanford flights, it was a point at which you mentally draw breath and realise the travel stresses are done and the relaxing part of the holiday is really underway. Flying over it and realising you're landing that much closer to where you want to be is also good.
