Just to add we stayed at the Clarion, which is a budget option as was much cheaper than most so expected the worst.

It was surprisingly absolutely fine, dated but clean and comfy.

The main reason for this post though is that it’s by the convention centre and the hotels there, the walk to Disneyland was a doddle, one straight line with 2-3 crosswalks and you are at the gates to Disney.

On the walk there is a Walgreens and a 7/11 along with other things but we liked the walk and being able to pop into 7/11 for a Slurpee on the way home

We are staying at Hotel Indigo in Feb - seems to get really good reviews, free parking which is a bonus to us and about a 15 min walk!

We have stayed in a few around the area. We found the hojo a nice place and in the main tower you get fireworks views. hojoanaheim/webcam/
But if you want a newer hotel and more space then the homewood suites is nice and they have rooms with kitchens etc, plus breakfast and 24/7 coffee. This is directly next to the disneyparking lot and you can catch the disney car park bus or walk in under 15mins.

We regularly stay at Best Western Stovalls Inn on Katella, you can walk up the street opposite to the Grand Californian and be at the parks in less than 15 mins. It’s night next door to CoCos bakery restaurant which is 24 hours. Gorgeous rooms, good brekkie included.

We've also stayed at BW Stovalls Inn - though wasn't that impressed.
Good points - Location, Value, kids entertainment, Parking
Bad Points - Noise, Smell of rooms, Breakfast
I think what made it worse, was we came from some nice hotels beforehand (4* plus) - so this was a big downgrade, I knew that when I booked obviously. If value and location is what you're after then its great, but we won't be returning next time.

we stayed there 2 years ago after their refit and thought it was really good, my husband had never stayed there and had a genuine ‘WOW’ moment when he opened the door.

Different strokes as they say...

I have not stayed yet but booked Fairfield Inn as got a great price with BA that included flights. I have not read many negative reviews about it.

Having now stayed there, couldn't recommend Hotel Indigo enough, lovely hotel, free breakfast and a nice 10 minute walk to the parks (maybe 15 with kids!)

Hi. We stayed at the Homewood Suites by Hilton, it's about a 10 minute walk to the gates, central for all restaurants. Big family suites. The toy story car parking lot for Disney is next door to it and you can catch the free shuttle to Disneyland every 10 minutes or so, we only used this a few times as we enjoyed the walk. Enjoy your trip, we had a great time.
