LA Cruise port to Disneyland and LAX
Hi
We have booked a cruise from LA in October. We are flying into Vegas and having a few nights there before flying onto LA for the Cruise. On return we are considering a few days at Disneyland before flying home from LAX but just wondering whats the best transportation to get us from the Cruise Port to Disneyland and then back to LAX. Would you hire a car? We did this last trip but that was 2 weeks and we doubt we will need it for the Disney Days or is Uber/Taxi the way forward. Otherwise there may be another option we are missing. Be good to hear from somoene who has done this Thank you Lara Edited at 03:02 PM. |

We're just back from LA and had a spare day after the cruise so we rented a car for about $40 (1 day) - picked up in Long Beach and dropped off at LAX. Taxi to Long Beach wasn't cheap considering it's only about 10 mins away, $20.
Uber from LAX (XL size) to cruise was about $60 so the freedom we got from the hire car for the return made it worth our while. |

Would suggest having a look at Lyft/Uber prices, as well as something like Super Shuttle (not as ideal as they may make several stops but might work out cheaper depending on how many of you there are).
Getting a car wise - be aware that many Disneyland-area hotels charge a parking fee so you would need to factor this into the cost of hiring a car and keeping it while you're at Disney! And if you stay further away and intend to drive to Disneyland then the Disneyland parking lots also charge a parking fee... (Would suggest staying within walking distance of Disneyland, there are lots of hotels/motels that are within walking distance!)

Anaheim is 30-45 minutes from Long Beach, I would get an Uber for this. From Anaheim to LAX you could get the Disney Express coach, a transfer from the likes of Super Shuttle or an Uber. Its a good hour to the airport, sometimes much more if there are traffic issues.
If all you plan to do is stay in Anaheim then don't bother with a car, just stay in a good neighbour hotel to be close enough to walk. |
