Argentina: Summer In Winter - Spring 2019: Day 0 Travel Day 1

So the bulk of the first travel day was actually spent at work! And school for O!

J took us in and then went back home as he was on a road trip with F and Verdi - F had a two day competition!

The work day sped by as I had a client agree to some training which meant a lot of contracts and programmes being drawn up!

3.30pm soon came and my boss took me to pick O up at school and then he dropped us off at the airport!

O wanted picking up early so he could miss English! He had had though 5 hours of maths and two if physics so I couldn't complain.

We started out in Starbucks as check-in wasn't open! O gad a frappacino and muffin and I just had an iced tea!

It was very very hot in the airport. Check in was quick and we went through security. I picked up an avocado wrap from Pret-a- manger which was very tasty.

We went through passport control and then waited for boarding which thankfully was on time - we only had 90 minutes at Frankfurt!

They gave out a cheese sandwich as the snack which was very tasty! We landed on time but at a remote stand.

After the bus there was a very long speed walk through passport control and security to get to the C terminal.

We were at the same gate as O had been in the summer when he had flown to India.

He got himself a pizza and a muesli yoghurt for dinner. By now it was past 9pm.

Boarding stated at about 9.30pm. We waited until almost last to board.

We each had an aisle seat. The flight was pretty full - lots of cruisers who were off to BA for a Costa cruise - let's hope they weren’t on the one the crashed two days ago...

I started to watch Bohemian Rhapsody which I thought was very good!

Dinner came round - for once I hadn't ordered the veggie option! Lufthansa generally have one as one if the choices.

They did this time too - a creamy pasta that was really tasty.

Both O and I slept - me for about 4 hours and O for 7!

I watched Mama Mia 2 - not as good as the original!

And as it was past midnight in both time zones, the first travel day is over!

With a short connection at Frankfurt I always worry but we made it!

It all sounds like it went smoothly. You’ve got a nice boss to drop you at the airport!

I’m very envious of O sleeping for 7 hours! Your 4 hours wasn’t bad too.

Great travel day, you are lucky to be able to sleep on a plane. I never can, we fly to Vietnam this summer and it’s going to be very difficult as we land 9am so will have to try to get an afternoon nap in I think 😀.

Thankfully I work only 5 minutes from the airport (the office is literally at the end of the runway) and O’s school isn’t far away either.

I think he was happy to get out of the office too

I have practiced a long time to be able to sleep! My best was sleeping literally from take off to landing on a flight back from Canada!
