I was under the impression that you can only eat in the hotel restaurants in your dress if you book through Disney Weddings for a reception? I'm sure I've read somewhere you run into major issues if you try and just book a meal the normal way.

I thought this too but as long as I spent the minimum this was the only package which I could arrange a meal/reception. The girl was really helpful, I just felt it was a bit excessive for how few of us were going to be there.
DFTW would say that as they want you to book with them.

I know tons of Brides who have eaten in Disney restaurants by booking a regular ADR and none have had an issue.

I really hope so. Im still a bit out to make adrs but I've decided to wait and ask then and if they say no then I'll look into other options. It's a lot to stay at a Disney resort tho, you'd think you'd be at least able to eat at your own resort. Only time will tell I suppose. Fingers crossed 😊

Don't ask the call centre as they'll say no too but I promise you it's fine. I've been involved in Disney weddings for 10 years and no one has ever had a problem.

I second what Claire says.
Just do it. You will get only congratulations from the cast. I have never heard of anybody having any issues at all with wearing wedding dresses around the resorts.
One tip might be to avoid competing with DFTW brides for photo spots in the resorts e.g. If there is a DFTW bride on the stairs at the GF, let them do their photos and move on before you go anywhere near. They have priority (and rightly so).
