Best thing to do is to check prices for your dates on Expedia or trivago will show you all companies offering those hotels and prices. £400 to £550 is about right for 2 nights in July. Worth comparing though as you can sometimes get a better deal, we saved £100 last July on a 24 hour special offer.

We've been twice for a few days each time, and we really liked the Hampton by Hilton on East 43rd. It's close to the Chrysler Building and Grand Central.
I would expect to pay £180-£200 per night roughly, keep checking prices as they do fluctuate a great deal for NYC!

Last year I stayed in the Roosevelt hotel and this was amaxing , booked through expedia . The hotel is stunning like you have stepped back in time very elegant and fabulous roof top bar . I would never stay any where else now and only a 10 minute walk to time square .

We stayed at Hampton inn Times Square north twice, great location, very comfy beds and good size rooms for 4 people. Plus free tea/coffee/hot choc 24 hours. Includes free breakfast too we didn’t have this as we wanted to go out to eat.
