Are we heading into full lockdown?

Who thinks we are heading into a full lockdown rather than a regional one?

It seems that the other European countries are doing so in some form or another.

How did we go from so few cases in the summer to the mess we are in now?

The current local lockdowns dont seem to be working according to the info - hasn't Leicester been in lockdown for weeks already with no reduction?

What a flipping mess - I just want my old life back!

They’ll call it regional lockdown but we will all be in full lockdown I believe, maybe a few areas excepted to maintain the illusion.

Politically I think Boris may choose to.

I really don’t think these local tier restrictions will work and the only thing that will is a complete lockdown including stopping travel in and out of the country. Whether that’s the best route to take I don’t know. I am sick of living like this and so so worried about the economy and people’s jobs I think more lockdowns will be the nail in some coffins.

I’m starting to think that we will be living with this forever now and even a vaccine won’t make it go away. The future might look like us finding a way to live with it.

I wish people would stop referring to the tiers we have in place now as ‘lockdowns’ they are far from it. They are different levels of restrictions.

What Wales and NI has got is a lockdown, but not England or Scotland.

Except schools remain open in Wales (and Scotland?), which is a fairly big difference compared to the restrictions that were in place back in the Spring.

Fair point, but I don’t think schools should have closed in March.

Does anyone think a lockdown/lockdown light - whatever you want to call it - will only prolong the pain - and just push an increase in cases a couple of weeks further down the road?

I'm in tier 3 now only been a few days so too early to tell but pretty certain more restrictions on way, Nottingham from Friday are talking about them being in tier 3+... didnt know there was a tier 3+... when there was talk of a curcuit breaker a few weeks back for around now they should've done that.

I am starting to think that it may happen tbh. I really hope not though and think we should see if the local tier restrictions have the desired effect first.

You do raise a good point about Leicester. Not sure whether they’ve been on extra restrictions throughout, but their figures are still around 300 per 100k (7 day rolling rate) and they have risen in each of the Leicestershire areas in the last week or so.

It seems that the areas that have been moved into tier 3 have had numbers staying in the 400+ per 100k and as we’ve seen these areas seem to be increasing in number.

I think if things don’t start to change by mid November, then there’s a good chance we’ll be put on some kind of lockdown 😕
