Miami Hotels
We are going to Miami for 1 night in November. The initial plan was to stay in South Beach. I love Art Deco but I’ve heard good things and bad things about the area at night. We’re not heading to any clubs.
I have a free night to book in a Marriott property and currently have the Autograph Winter Haven booked. Would you recommend staying in South Beach or moving to another Marriott property at Bayside or Brickell? We are going to Little Havana, Wynwood, South Beach, Coral Gables and possibly Coconut Grove. We stayed for 3 nights in South Beach this year with 3 children 18, 10,9 and we all loved it. Easy for the beach, restaurants and shops. We never saw any trouble, obviously no clubs for us either but we were out until 10-11 at night with no problem. Police are around but there were lots of people and it is a party destination so not surprised. We stayed at the Washington Park Hotel next door to the Miami Police St 😂. Nice pool and just a couple of blocks up from the Versace mansion. I’d definitely stop there again.

We went a couple of years back with our son (12 at the time) and felt perfectly safe.
We did see someone being arrested (multiple cars for one assailant) whilst we were on a Segway tour. I was instructing DS to keep looking forward but OH was dinging his bell 🤦🏼 We stayed there on the way in and the way out in 2 different hotels both of which I’d highly recommend. The Eden Roc and the Grand Beach Surfside The Eden Roc is closer to the action but you need to spend more for the same class of room as you’d get in surfside. We’re at Surfside again next year. It’s lovely 😊
