Amending booking

So as with everybody else I am waiting patiently for the announcement of possible free dining.
My question is if I booked as soon as it comes out to secure it (say 15th- 29th August 2020) but then needed to amend dates (as want to go as late as possible in August / early September before school term starts but dates for 2020/21 haven�t been released by local authority yet.) is there a charge? Possible booking direst with Disney? Possibly thinking virgin package? Would this make a difference in being able to amend dates?

I booked direct with Disney for 1 person so chose my room type and resort at booking �50 deposit . I then when I had firm dates added on the rest of my party . All get free dine and because the cost went up by adding park tickets there was no amendment charge . You just have to be aware there may not be free dine rooms available when you amend , it�s not just about general availability overall .
