Poor old Eric -Sorry if Too Much Info !

I’m sorry for the essay and there’s not much point really unless we have a vet on-board the Dibb but I just need to “un-load”.

I mentioned about 2 weeks ago that something was wrong with his ≈≈≈≈ glands and his ‘bottom’ in general.

Since then he’s been on anti-biotic pills, and 3 times a day I’ve bathed him with an antiseptic diluted in warm water and applied antibiotic gel followed an hour later with sudocrem. All this on Vet’s instructions obviously. She says it’s healing, but slowly due to his age (21 y and 8 m on Sat).

Obviously it’s sore, which lead to him not using his litter tray for his no 2’s over the weekend. I’ve covered up the litter with kitchen roll and this solved the problem for a couple of days but this morning he’s made a mess - on both tiled and carpet floors.

Now for the first time, he’s done a wee on the carpet.

I’m so upset about this that my hands are shaking ! I know he’s very old and doesn’t have much time ahead of him but this is a horrible situation, especially for him as he watches me clean up. Cats are fastidious without personal habits and get distressed if they have a toileting accident.

He’s seeing the vet tomorrow. If this incontinence is going to be on-going due to the bum trouble, I will be devastated.

Thanks for listening.

Linda. Xx

Poor Eric. You are doing as much as you can Linda and just having you help him will be comforting to him. Hopefully the vet can sort him out tomorrow. We will be thinking of you xx

So sorry to read about Eric, fingers crossed the Vet can give you some positivity. I was just thinking maybe puppy pads for on your floors might help. Pets at home/Tesco/Amazon have them.

Sending you both lots of hugs.

Sorry to hear that Eric is a bit poorly, I hope the vet gets him sorted out xx
My Bee cat had problems with her bot glands too, had it cleaned out and antibotics and she was fighting fit again
i put down the puppy pads for the floor in the spots she had her little accidents in, if you cant get hold of them the disposable baby changing mats are just as good
