Braved the supermarket!

My daughter and I braved Waitrose at 9.45 this morning.

It was good natured carnage. At one point it did feel a bit like going into battle and I had to use the phrase “cover me with the trolley whilst I go in for the Red Leicester”.
Checkouts were crazy and I feel for the staff. People were in good spirits though and I hope that continues for the poor staff!

Drove out at 10.45 and there were around 30 cars waiting to get in.

That’s me done now, apart from a quick walk to Marks and Spencer’s for fresh baguettes for our Christmas Eve soup.

Anyone else braved the shops?

I braved Tesco at 6:30 yesterday morning; was quite busy when I got there and even busier when I left.

I spent a lot of time in the cheese section looking like a rabbit caught in the headlights muttering that I was definitely having bourbon for breakfast!

No more supermarkets (or shops) for me for at least ten days, unless Ocado fail me when they do my delivery next Friday.

I’ve been to Asda (had a cash pot to use), Aldi and Tesco. Asda was the worst.

Just been to Morrisons, not to busy at all. Main shop is tomorrow at Asda. Not looking forward to it but it’s gotta be done.

Yep we picked up our order from M&S about 20 in the queue but moved quickly
Walking a mile to Tesco tomorrow to get strawberries & the vegetables can’t be doing with fighting for a parking space 🙄🙈that’s why last year we went to Barcelona

I went to collect my M&S order today and the shop was not packed really. It was not the usual one we collect at as this year that one was not on the list for collections. This store dint really know what they were doing and by the time they located my order I was glad to be out of there. It was only when I got home I realised I was overcharged by 10.50. Hopefully customer service responds to my email as the branch isn’t near me to pop back in. But other than that, I’m glad all my items were there- eventually 😄

I was in Lidl at 7.30 Fri morning, then Waitrose at 7.58 am for usual food shop. Both were busier by the time I left! Also popped to local butcher at 8.30am to get beef joint that OH forgot, for the freezer.
I've a Waitrose delivery for fresh/chilled item late Mon night. 🤞

I have took my mother to M&S the other day, it was crazy busy 🙈 my husband and I are braving Tesco tomorrow morning, I would prefer to go alone because he turns into Mr Grinch whenever we go to the supermarket at Christmas, he doesn’t want fancy cheese & biscuits or fancy treats etc because he will eat them 🤦🤷🤦
