Mobile Daughters wound update

Hi there. Just thought I would give an update on my daughters wound as many of you kindly gave advice and well wishes 💕
Quick summary; on the 4th October my daughter had a small mole removed from the back of her leg which kept getting caught when shaving. It was done at our doctors surgery and the doctor put 3 stitches approximately 1.5cm long wound.
5 days later it was hot, very red & painful. Given antibiotics. A few days later it was worse and effecting her blood sugar levels resulting in hospital with ketones, bad infection, two drips. The wound was then the size of a pound coin and depth if that makes sense. The antibiotics was doubled to 1000mg four times a day for another week and they removed the stitches as the skin had all ripped open, total mess.
The wound took forever to stop weeping. It’s finally got a very thin layer of skin over it. It is still very tender and very, very red/purple.
It stings in the shower and she has to be very careful drying it.
It looks a mess and about the size of a two pound coin.
We are at clinic on Wednesday so it is being checked again then.
If we was warned about the possible effects due to being diabetic she would never have had it removed. As a young girl she hated the mole but now has a scare that is by far bigger. But at least it’s not an open wound anymore

I was thinking about her the other day. Thanks for the update xx Hopefully the scar will fade in time. Once it's finally healed properly, I can 100% recommended CicaCare to help improve the cosmetic appearance of it.

Floridatilly, the very same thing happened to me as a teen but my mole was on my lower back. It used to catch on the waistband of jeans etc and the doctor decided to remove it as he thought it had potential to change. The stitches burst and it got infected and took a good six weeks to start to heal. It took a good while to fade but it eventually did and now is just a circle that’s lighter than my own skin tone and it’s hardly noticeable at all. I was told when it healed to massage it at least twice a day, I assume to break down scar tissue. Hope she is ok x

I really hope it does fade. It looks a mess at the moment. I am glad it’s winter actually because I would imagine the scar tissue will be sensitive to the sun until it’s completely healed. Plus she can wear her joggers or jeans in winter lol
