We are arriving on Thursday. Been to CSR quite a few times but you can only be frustrated that no compensation has been given to some. Hoping it doesn't spoil the holiday - have requested a renovated room *fingers crossed*

Do we know if they're giving them to everyone, or just those immediately next to the construction zone/those who complain?
Hi , we had them waiting in the room when we got here, it's a set of three. We've also had chocolate's left in our room every night and as it's my birthday I got a special gift , managed to bag a new room in Ranchos 7A so not all doom & gloom , although the bus service is still atrocious

I'd put in a Touring Plan room request for Casitas 4 or 5 but was initially allocated Ranchos at check in so I asked for the blocks I wanted and got Casitas 5. I wanted to be far from the works but not far from the Pepper Market etc. We're facing the car park and I've so far heard no building works (been out all day though.) The works certainly look pretty unsightly but that doesn't affect us much in this location so I'd recommend it. The resort still looks so pretty at night. It's also good for bus stops in this location as they stop here first - AK bus for EMH this morning was full by the time it got to Cabanas and didn't stop there. Off to try the main pool soon
We've also requested Casitas via Touring Plans, if we are allocated anywhere else on arrival I will be very frustrated after months of blind faith in Disney that my stay at CSR would still be enjoyable

I know that's completely irrational given that it's merely a 'room request' but given that I haven't ever 'rocked the boat' by requesting a move, not honouring my request would feel like a kick in the teeth.

Quite excited to hear about the pin set, we have another from 2015 when we stayed at Wilderness Lodge during works.

I don't think the touring plans request worked at all, so I was lucky that they could move me from Ranchos to Casitas at check-in without any fuss. I'd advise finding an email address to contact CSR direct with your room request, pointing out how long ago you booked etc. I was amused to hear an American man arguing with reception yesterday about his room allocation, stating that he'd booked 6 months ago so should get the room he wanted - when so many of us Brits have booked 18 months out! I'm glad we didn't move resort now, I think it's beautiful here (ignoring the view in one specific direction ) and we've found the buses really good, never waited more than 10 mins, most times much less. We also really like the food court. We've never stayed on site before, so have no comparison to other Disney resorts but compared to being on International Drive with a car we've found this so relaxing and are really enjoying the QSDP too.

Thank you, that's very reassuring. Food courts are fantastic aren't they?! No pressure at meal times after a busy park day.

We used Touring Plans last year at OKW and SSR and were successful so I'm crossing my fingers we get lucky again. If we don't get Casitas, I will ask if we can be moved, but if not then I don't suppose it's the end of the world.
