Waldorf Astoria LV
Myself, my mum and son (will be 14 at time of travel) are visiting Las Vegas for the first time at the end of May next year.
We should have been there this October but obviously covid had other plans. For that trip I had reserved a room at Caesars Palace but prices for next year appear to be way more so today I’ve booked the Waldorf Astoria. Has anyone stayed there and can tell me if I’ve made a good choice or not - my main reason for booking being the price and the fact we stayed at the Waldorf in NYC and loved it 😍 although the one in LV looks nothing like it! I understand this isn’t a gaming hotel, which I think I’ll quite like due to having my son with me. But then another part of me thinks we won’t be rushing back so it may be better to get the full experience of a casino hotel? Any help would be much appreciated.

I haven't been since it became the Waldorf, but when it was the Mandarin Oriental it was one of my favourite hotels on the strip. Good location in City Center, so you can be in a number of casinos within minutes. You really won't feel like you're missing out.

Thanks for this. I think I’m going to stick with it and then maybe look again at 3 months out and see if anything else catches my eye or if Caesars drops in price.

What room type at Caesars? Some are a bit … 😐
The Waldorf is in a good location and is a really lovely hotel. But if you’re after an OG Las Vegas hotel Caesars would do it for sure

We’d booked an “Augustus premium room” with strip view. I had read that some room types were a bit undesirable there!
The more I look at the pictures of the Waldorf the more it appeals so I think we’ll probably just stick with it.

We got married in the Sky Bar there in 2015 when it was the Mandarin Oriental. Best hotel we've ever stayed in - haven't had the budget to stay there again since sadly!
You won't be disappointed.

I dont like Caesars very much rooms are fine but as it has been extended and extended it seems to get bottlenecks when you are walking and feels a bit like being on the tube.
Mandarin Oriental was lovely sure Waldolf Astoria will be as well and a great part of the Strip. |

We stayed at Caesars the Christmas before lockdown. We found it far too big and took ages to get from your room on to the strip. The pool was a long way away too in another direction. Very busy. We actually have 2 free nights to take there, and have not booked them for our December or February trip. Dont think we will use them.
Mandarin is a lovely hotel and a great location. Plenty of casinos very near by to get the casino experience. |

Thanks to all for the reassurance, I’m pretty certain we’ll keep the booking. We got what I consider to be a good price (£590 for 4 nights including resort fee) the other hotels we have looked at and would be willing to stay in are almost double.
