We been watching Theme park worldwide vlog’s and after been to Orlando 5 times we been thinking of going to California but wondering with the time difference been 8 hours and the flight time over 11 hours does it take a longer to adjust to the time difference and with a 4 year old on his 1st ever flight best to go Orlando 1st then maybe California when his older?

I don't find jet lag any better or worse between the west and east coast.
Can't answer for kids on flights but for me, the difference between 8 and 11 hours actually isn't as bad or as long as you think. But I'm excited about potentially flying 16+ hours (LHR-PER/DRW, depending on what route Qantas are using then) later this year so I'll admit my perspective is a bit warped. Edited at 11:37 PM. |

Hi there
Nice dilemma to have I think, with a little one I’d likely go for the shorter flight (though neither flight is short!) but also because I think I’d appreciate the familiarity of a place you’d been before when taking your little one on their first trip I do find the jet lag slightly worse with the west coast - coming home particularly - but not enough for it to be a factor in my decision

I find it’s better coming back from the west coast tbh. The longer flight means you can have a better sleep. I returned from New York recently (9pm flight) and the flight was only 6 hours 30 long. By the time you’ve eaten dinner, you only get about 4 hours sleep. So the west coast for me is better. You can always stay the night at the premier inn before driving home
