Mobile Infinity Stones - Where To Buy

Hi Everyone

God I’m annoying with all these posts today!

Anyhow, I have some birthday cakes to make early next month for my nephews and sister in law.

One of my nephews wants an Avengers cake, which is fine, but I want to put the infinity stones on the drone around the Avengers symbol, however I’m struggling to find anything suitable or not ridiculously over expensive.

Does anyone have any recommendations for where I can get some gems of any kind? Don’t have to be edible, I can forewarn them to not eat them!

Thanks in Advance

Gill

When I made myself some Disney ears, I picked up gem stones for the middle bow part from the likes of Hobbycraft and The Range.👍🏻

I once bought a bracelet with plastic ‘crystals’ on to decorate DD’s crystal maze cake. I would suggest looking for cheap plastic jewellery gems. Again warn kids not to eat

You could use Isomalt and food colouring? And just make a little mould out of foil or something?

ETA: what might be easier is to just use some coloured boiled sweets and melt them into a mould.

How big do they need to be? Would something like Midget Gems work? Either that or Wine Gums or Fox's Glacier Fruits.

(You might have to do without the space stone though because I don't think they do a blue versions of these sweets ).

Could you just buy jelly and cut shapes out - you know the jelly before you add hot water? I know there is a blue jelly available - raspberry flavour.

Thanks so much for all your suggestions guys (and hilarious banter!).

I don’t really want to be buying moulds and stuff, purely as I have 3 large cakes to make, so the less expenses the better. I’m not actually a baker, it started as a one off for my brothers engagement party as they were let down last minute. Then I made one for my little nephews 1st birthday, it’s now spiralled into a tradition, and every year it’s something bigger and better. I got last year off due no parties, but there’s 2 of them now, plus my sister in law turns 30 at the same time, so plenty to fork out for cake and gifts.

I wouldn’t use the moulds again is what I’m getting at the long way ha ha.

I think I’m resigned to plastic beads, I thought I had found some on eBay, but despite having orange advertised, she doesn’t have them and suggests swapping for gold (heathen!). I’ll keep looking, I’ve a bit of time, I’m just trying to get ahead so everything isn’t last minute.

Just realised I haven’t settled on a present for the youngest, and his birthday is Monday, so currently fighting the urge to internet shop when I should be sleeping for work tomorrow!
