Travel ban lifting - the impact on flight prices

With the travel ban lifting do you think flight prices will stay as is, go up due to increased demand or do you think there is a chance they will come down to something a bit more reasonable?

They are very expensive right now for July/August 2022 and best we can get right now for a return from Manchester for family of 4 is around 4k direct. Normally we pay a lot less than that.

On my dates, they've come down considerably from when I last checked maybe a week or two ago. But that is for this year, and I think they're trying to fill the off-season planes.

For next August, demand was already high and I don't see it going down.

There is so much pent up demand in the system and credit / vouchers to be used I find it VERY doubtful prices are going anywhere but up or where they are up - staying up for the most popular route (Orlando / LA / NYC)

There is going to be some great bargains to fill up the planes over winter. However, my own view is that Easter and school holidays will remain as expensive as ever.

Over the next few weeks, if demand is strong, they will rise significantly.

Looking right now, you can still get some reasonable prices though

you can get 4x adult flights from glasgow 11th august 14nt for just under 3k direct to mlb so not mco.

same flights were 2.4k 2 weeks ago.

2 years vouchers and push backs will only drive demand up. School holidays will also be hit hard I imagine.

I've just booked with BA this evening for two adults in March 2022 - £1065. Our target price is always £500 pp for economy flights so we've blown the budget by £65. Happy with that

Travel ban lifted flight price increases

Was looking at how much our reward flights would have been at retail prices for 1st to 14th May economy out pe return
Price pre ban

Price post ban

That's some price jump in a week of £1657 especially when we only paid £485 originally for the reward flights for Sept 21
