I actually cannot watch much of the coverage as its too upsetting.

Its not easy to say but for me though I cannot understand why the other people in his life did soo little to protect him. If it was my grandson who i believed was being treated like that I would never have let him go to his parents or if he was in my class as a teacher id never let him leave school. (and yes it can be done. I have spoken to a head teacher who found a child who they already had concerns about going through her desk looking for food when she had left the child in there for a few moment - that child did not go home that afternoon to its parents!)
Of course the social care system must take most of the blame but given the state of them at the moment im surprised that there are not more cases like this and it might seem harsh but everyone (police/school/social services and family members) connected to him had a responsibility to do more to protect him.
Can I say thank you to you and others who deal with the fallout of these horrendous crimes. I've seen some sights in A&E but for you and your colleagues who HAVE to watch vidroy etc it must leave you scarred

Thank you

Just awful, awful, awful

the thought of what must have been going through his wee mind , finding it hard to read what he went through

Can the courts not step in and stop the wrangling re the poor wee soul getting laid to rest now

Ive been following the reports of the trial with increasing horror - how can someone behave like that? To get such sadistic pleasure. Its been giving me nightmares. A woman who should have been there for a little boy who had lost his mum, a man who should have been his sons hero.
I am also not violent, but honestly if you left me alone with them.

I really can’t imagine having to be a juror on such a case. This has been so awful. I really can’t put into words how this has made me feel.

I’ve had this poor baby in my thoughts since I first read the story.

Failed by the people who should of protected him. My son is my world…I just couldn’t even imagine. Monsters truly do walk among us.

The problem is that social services and the courts try to keep children with parents and the appeals and second chances keep coming and coming.

I have a friend who has a foster boy I won’t go into to details but the mother had so many “second” chances before the child was removed where as of any normal person with no training had ween what was happening legal or otherwise we would have grabbed the child and personally removed him.

Each time this terrible misery happens, baby P, Victoria Climbie and countless other some senior member of staff at social services either leaves with a handshake or gets moved sideways. Case workers say they have too much work (which they may have) and we are told mistakes will not happen again and yet they do again and again. We all make mistakes but it’s different losing a client missing a deadline but mistakes can not be made where a child can be tortured and made to suffer and killed.

All of the people working in this case need to be sacked and probably prosecuted.

For the Police and SS I agree with you, a shameful neglect of care and process.
For GP’s and School though - You have to remember that it was going on under lockdown, a completely alien time for most, he was totally isolated and it happened quite quickly, 10/11 weeks from when they moved from grandparents house to Tustin’s, Did School even know? GPs and Arthur’s Uncle thought they’d done the ‘right’ thing by reporting, they were failed by the system too and they will have to carry the guilt of not doing more forever.
Social workers should Never leave a house without careful observation and speaking to a child alone with proper investagative questioning.

Meant re funeral , they (not sure who ‘they’ are) are not agreeing , can the courts not interfere so he can get laid to rest , maybe not straightforward
