Had to cancel/ daughter tested positive. Any chance of refund on Disneyland tickets?

Our daughter tested positive on a lateral flow test on Tuesday, still no PCR result back but 99% sure she has COVID as she’s been unwell. Sadly we were due to fly on the 28th, made the decision to cancel but wondering what to do about Disneyland tickets if we can’t reschedule within the time restrictions. We have 2 daughters at uni and one doing GCSE’s this summer so tricky finding time to return this year as we have big trip planned in the summer.
Would insurance cover the tickets?
We are gutted to cancel yet another holiday but with how things are over there at the minute, the worry of testing positive while away was equally stressful.

Sorry to read this ..

If they haven’t been used, Surely you could resell them if Disneyland wont refund ?

I can’t remember what’s their refund policy is , because I didn’t buy tickets till I was sure we were going , and I’ll do the same for February

Hope your daughter feels better soon :-)

Such terrible news Nicky. Hope your daughter isn't too bad and you'll be able to reschedule sometime soon. Sorry but no advice on the tickets.

Thanks, we got them because we were supposed to be in the parks on New Year’s Eve etc so thought it could sell out if we didn’t get a reservation.
How would we sell them? They are e-tickets with our names on?
Glad you got there and had a lovely time x

The Disneyland tickets will hold their value. They will have a valid to date on them, you can use them at any time up to the valid to date. After the valid to date is past, you can still use them as part payment for new tickets.

After the valid to date, you just go to the kiosks at the parks and they exchange them for new tickets. If there has been a price increase, you will need to pay the difference.

You can not sell them , as thats in the terms and conditions.

They will refund - they did for me in 2020. I have 2 days booked but if they do bring in attendance restriction as is being suggested on LA news I may not get in so will ask for a refund - they are also bringing in a surcharge for popular rides and no way I am being ripped off

That might well be the t&c’s . But the reality is people do sell unused park tickets… happens all the time .. and not just because of Covid ..

I actually did it once , I was given some tickets and couldn’t use them and i sold them to a friend for 1/2 the value , she was happy i was happy and there were no issues at all..

Attendance is restricted anyway isn’t it ? I know when I was there late November Disneyland reached capacity one of the days I was there.

I spoke to a CM and she said they aren’t allowed to give the exact attendance figure but the parks are running at reduced capacity..

That said I am keeping a eye on things , because we are due back at the end of Feb, I don’t want to promise my granddaughter she’s off back to Disney if they reduce capacity and we cant get in .

We wont be paying anything extra either.. My husband would have a fit ! He already thinks the parks are massively overpriced.. that would tip-off him over the edge
