Staying on Site - How to take money

Hi Guys

We are staying on site for the whole of our stay this year (first time ever) and are planning on using magic bands to charge everything to room and take just a small amount of cash

What would you recommend a the best way to take the rest of our spending money?

Eg just credit cards and link to room, pay off on return home
Currency card and pay off room every couple of days
Cold hard cash lol

Sorry if this is a daft question

Thanks

As you say, link a credit card to your room, some cash for tips offsite.

Not a daft question, but very much comes down to personal preference. We just use our credit cards, which have no charges associated with foreign transactions. As long as you pay off your balance in full this is one of the most cost effective ways to pay. It is also very easy to do.

we had a revolut card and just went to pay off every other day. we charged tips to our room too so we could check on the MDE app to see how much we'd spent, haha. we did however use the $200 to cover most of the tip cost

The thing with cash is it 'locks' the rate you paid when you converted it, CC will be different everyday.

Every trip we are taking less and less cash. Even that I only tend to use to buy gas and pay the food bill in Publix.

For our 4 week Aug/Sept trip I will take maybe $1200 +/-. There again I may take less, depends how I feel.

But I will need maybe $700 for offsite meals as I prefer cash for them. Cash is King!

The whole lot ref onsite spending will go onto a Santander credit card

Cash is the best option for meals. Just leave the bill and tip and off you go.

I normally use the PO Credit Card for all meal spending - just ask to accompany the server to the till where he/she swipes the card so it's never out of my sight. They sometimes ask why, but never refuse as good service always = tip%.

For 13 days in November I bet we'll take about $500 in cash between us. Both have PO Credit Cards so those can take the hit, before payback in full on return to the UK.

When at WDW we put absolutely everything we buy, from a single bottle of water up to a Cali Grill meal, onto our Magicbands and just let Disney sort it out from our credit card on file.

This generally means they'll take some money midway, and then the balance at the end when we checkout.
