davy crocket ranch... is it ok?

Normally we are lucky to stay in the compass club with halfboard. Money is a bit tighter next year. Its for 3 adults 4 children. What are your views on dcr and do they have ovens now? I think we could make it a nice trip and the kids hopefully won't notice the tighter budget.
Thanks for any info or suggestions xx

I haven't ever stayed here but my cousin has recently and she absolutely loved it, as long as you have access to a car you should be fine, they have a kitchen including an oven, They are also doing up the pool at the minute and should be finished soon well in time for next year anyway.

The only downside for us is the drive and feeling like you have not got the ease of walking into the parks. You effectively lose he benefit of staying on site.

We would now opt for the cheapest hotel over DCR is money was the issue.

I really liked DCR. It was lovely having the extra space and the resort is lovely. However, it was a pain having to drive to the parks. I much prefer being able to walk but if they introduced a shuttle then I'd definitely look at it again.

We loved it. It was great having the extra room so we could put the little one to bed and have space to relax without waking him up. The drive was only around 15 mins and didn’t find parking a problem. It also meant we could take food with us to take into the park which helped with spending money.

We stay at davy crockett all the time and we love it. It has the best pool and it is nice to have a bit more space. I think the new road is now open in both directions so the drive is now only about 5 minutes.

I love Davy Crockett! It’s great having 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and living area. There isn’t an oven though, microwave and hob only. The cabins are a bit dated but you’ll barely notice and there are still little Disney touches. The pool is fantastic and it’s relaxing being in the trees. Only downside is the drive, it’s not far but it adds up when you include the walk to the car park which is further than the walk to Newport bay. We often would go back for lunch though, we grabbed a baguette, butter and cheese at the dcr shop to make lunch then we’d have a rest or swim.

We also love it, We’re going again October half term and it’s the only place we would stay, Love taking our own food and drinks! Saves a fortune!

The only downside is the pool is bloody freezing.

We were there last week and we loved it. The pool is still not open but we had spent the two previous weeks on a beach holiday in the South so probably wouldn’t have used it anyway
Quick drive to the park. Very spacious. In our opinion much better than two double beds and one bathroom. We had two bedrooms and two showers rooms/toilets
