Bought our first house in 1970, it was a brand spanking new 3 bedroom semi-detached; paid £4575.00... that could get you 10% of a 10% deposit nowadays.
Mortgage was £32 a month.

When we got married in 1967 you had to be 21 to purchase a house and I signed up on my 21st birthday. It cost us around £2,000 for a new 2 bed semi-detached bungalow.

Because I worked for the house builder we got a 1% discount which we had to take in extras. I think I added a shaver point in the bathroom and a few more power points for our £20.

Old English Spangles! Why can't they bring them back Why?
Cherry for coughs and barley sugar for travel. Acid drops my particular favourites.

My first car in 1972 was a P4 1961 Rover 100. Great car and I loved the suicide doors.
Bought it for £250 and sold it a year later for £200.

I know the number but I can’t put it on here as it’s still registered and showing as MOT compliant on the DVLA website!

I know exactly what you mean, a few years ago I received an invitation to a sixtieth birthday party, thinking who do I know that's 60? then I realised it was someone I sat next to at school

The only number plate I remember was a Nissan Micra my mum had in the 80’s.

Can’t even remember the plate of my first car in around 2003.

I just about remember the plate on our current car and often have to look out the window to check it, I even keep a photo on my phone for car parks etc.

But that Micra, G281 VWC 🤷😂
