Hurricane Milton now a CAT 5

Hurricane Milton has now strengthened to a CAT 5 hurricane with speeds of 160 MPH
Expected to be a CAT 3/2 when arriving into Orlando, with possible rainfall of 16 inches and many power outages

My father in law was hit pretty bad with Helene. He’s out by Clearwater and had 4ft storm surge inside with more on the outside. They’re on the water so bottom floor was just garages and such but all their cars were totaled and they lost a fair bit. Their boats were tied down but someone else’s was in their yard.

They’re evacuating for Milton since it’s a direct hit and stronger. There’s a lot of devastation already on the coast and so many dead/missing up in NC. Milton being so much stronger is worrisome so we’ve told family members to drive north to us.

Anyone flying in or riding out Milton at Disney or Universal please stay safe. Trees will be down, and resources for locals low.Disney is like a fortress when it comes to hurricanes so may locals who are under mandatory evacuation will be able to stay there provided they have the rooms available so it’s going to be wet, windy and busy!
