We are able to watch the launches from our pool deck.
It is a wonderful sight to see both by day or in the dark

Oh dear I think some people will hate me for saying this - we did one of the launches maybe 14 years ago at KSC so we were pretty close. Had to be up at a very unreasonable time, husband absolutely loved it, I however fell asleep as I was so tired 😅😅 did wake up for the launch itself but it was a lot of waiting around and very busy. Would probably still do it again though!

The "feel the heat" and launch transport tickets still sell out like hotcakes for a publicised one like Crew-10 or generally any Falcon Heavy launch. Not sure what they are like for a routine Falcon 9 though given they go up like clockwork multiple times a week.

As a tourist I'd prefer not to spend money on it personally due to the high risk of a launch being scrubbed and not being able to make the alternative dates but can get why people do.

Seen a couple of shuttle launches.
Everyone just parked on the highway edge and pulled out picnic tables.
Quite surprised by that.

One of the most memorable things we did was miss Challenger as we had already seen a few so didn't bother.

It's amazing how anything can become mundane with repetition.
