Just a word of warning - I had an email a couple of months ago to say we had achieved a new voucher. We already had one showing on our account from June last year. I didn’t think we were due another so phoned Virgin on the presence of making a booking saying I had 2 vouchers and they said straight away one was a glitch so only one voucher was valid.
So fingers crossed it’s not picked up but don’t get carried away in case it is.

Good to know. It maybe is an issue if you have two on your account? We’ve already used one.

It could well be. I used 2 back in 2022 so was quite excited I could use 2 for our next trip.
Looking at the points system at the moment for MCO I would need half a dozen vouchers to got into there on upper! Looks like Tampa is a much better option.

I have a rewards card, reached £10k and received and redeemed my voucher. I have just noticed I am close to reaching £20k - should I downgrade to the normal card to be in with the hope of getting another voucher, or have people had luck with getting it when still on the rewards card?

I recently rang Virgin about a voucher that was supposed to have been applied to my account in November 2024. It still wasn’t showing so I rang to ask why.
Turns out the voucher applied to my account in June 2024 was a glitch (I didn’t realise 2 had been applied in my 12 month period) and therefore I wouldn’t be getting the November one. I did the maths and they are right, I should never had had one in June. They said that they would extend the expiry date to November 2026 to match when I should have had it. So whilst you may be able to use the extra vouchers, they may withhold one due to you in the following year as they have done with me. Hopefully everyone else is luckier than me though. Mustn’t grumble though, we got a great Upper Class deal through the new points system! |

Is it peoples experience that they get two email when they earn a voucher. This is the first voucher I've earned under the new system i.e. the voucher is worth 75,000/150,000 points rather than being a companion/upgrade voucher, so I don't know if the notification element has changed but a while back I received an email stating that I had earned a rewards voucher worth 150,000 points and there it was in my account (this is all in line with my £10,000 spend since anniversary of card)
But today I got an email in a different format telling me that I will get a voucher in my account in the next 30 days. As I say, not sure if this is a glitch like other people have received or if it is simply to be expected.

Yes and given there are very few value premium/ upper return flights in particular from any Florida destinations, because the vouchers are only worth 75k they wouldn’t cover you for anything like 50% which means you book economy, then the vouchers are only saving about 20k points….
All very, very carefully thought out.
