Polk County Sheriff's Office have requested people stay off the roads today whilst they work to assess the damage. There are dangerous conditions with trees down on power lines and debris everywhere.

Not seen the news with not having power but I'm praying things aren't as bad as expected for those on the coast
You'll have to check the terms of your particular insurance policy as we don't know what exact cover you have taken out.

Just checking in here - everything OK here thankfully. Power went off at 4am but just back on now.

Glad to hear that everyone is OK so far.

We’re at our villa on Orange Tree ( Clermont). All ok - no apparent damage apart from tree debris everywhere. We were lucky not to lose power, or water, and no pool screens out. As we lost our roof during Ian, we are very thankful. Keep safe everyone

Although we have been closely watching this storm it is nice not to have to worry about how many shingles, pool, screens etc we might have lost. This year is our first year since we sold our Florida home and have to admit it is nice to not have to worry about it although we will be out there in a couple weeks and no doubt see some of the clear up still going on.

We have lost 3 pool screens and the side privacy fences are damaged. Our guests are safe so all us good.

Helen didn't you lose screens in Helene too?

My heart goes out to all those who have lost their lives and homes through the flooding, tornadoes and hurricane winds 😔
Just seen a report about a huge hole in the 511 near Clermont and the south bound side is closed - be careful when driving angelbabe. Edited to add the whole is on the Turnpike.

I believe you were also advising someone in Groveland angelbabe about hurricane help but can't find the post - hope they are OK too as I know they are staying up your way.

I must say I feel a bit exhausted this morning. We didn't get too much sleep and I think the adrenaline is wearing off.
