Thanks for sharing the video. At the very end of that video there is a mention of a go fund me page for the pier to support efforts to rebuild.

I won't post the link, not sure if that's allowed but I'm sure a quick Google will throw it up for anyone interested.

This was so sad.
We stayed on AMI 20-25 Sept (we evacuated on the Weds due to the incoming Helene)
Our last activity was to go fishing off this pier. Had an amazing time and met some lovely people - including having a great chat with the guy who runs the webcam.
Little did we know that just 24 hrs later it would be damaged to the point that access was no longer safe - before being completely destroyed 2 weeks later
Truly heartbreaking - not just re this pier but for all areas of AMI. A double hit in 2 weeks has been catastrophic.

Just one word of caution. Apparently Milton has spawned a LOT of scam Go Fund Me pages etc so just a quick word of advice to just tread with care and double check before donating

Anna Maria Island was next on my list of places to spend a week on, at least when we plan to head to that part of the world. Looks absolutely lovely, and if their only just letting residents back then it will be a good while before this will be feasible.

Sad times, like when Ian destroyed Naples Pier a few years ago. Great memories.
