Question Which Hotel at Heathrow Airport night before flight?

Flights are booked! Economy out, Upper back for the princely sum of £2865 which I was VERY happy with!

Now it's time for the night before hotel as we hate travelling down day of.

I have been looking at the Premier Inn which is where we normally travel from Gatwick, but i can't tell if it's within walking distance of the terminal.

We'll be travelling by train so where ever we hole up for the night needs to be easily walkable from the terminal. We'd also prefer somewhere that had a restaurant onsite that does dinner and breakfast as we travel down on a Tuesday and DD has college that day so will have no chance of a hot meal.

Where are your go to places? Price isn't really a concern, just want somewhere nice, close and with amenities for the night

Thank you to anyone with suggestions

Any hotel on Bath Road is not walkable to Heathrow you would need to get an Uber, taxi or Hotel Hoppa. Edited to add:- the Thistle Hotel is connected to T5 by the Pod system.

The following hotels may be of interest - you've mentioned flying Upper back to the UK so am assuming you are travelling with Virgin. In which case the two walkable hotels are the Hilton Garden Inn T2/3 and the Aerotel.

Other hotels to consider could be at T4 - Hilton, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn or the Premier Inn. You can use the free transfer by Underground/Elizabeth Line over to T3. The only hotel attached to T5 is the Sofitel and again you would need to use a free transfer by Underground/Elizabeth Line or Heathrow Express to T3.

When using the free transfers you would need to scan in/out using a contactless debit card but obviously there is no charge or when using the Heathrow Express you can get a free transfer ticket.

Thank you so much! That is really helpful! It's been years since we flew out of Heathrow, we normally go with BA from Gatwick. I'll go and look at all those options!

Our go to is the Premier inn terminal 4. It has a covered walkway to the terminal and you can then catch the tube (free) to the other terminals.

We also stayed in the Premier Inn T4 and will probably do so this year.

We arrived to T2/T3 via National Express and used the free underground tubes which connected to T4.

The Premier Inn was easily signposted and didn’t take long to walk to at all.

Having never travelled from Heathrow before, we found this very easy to do

I believe the tubes start running from around 5am so just bare this in mind if your flight is very early.

We have always stayed at Prem Inn Bath Rd out of tradition (and on basis of cost). It has Purple Parking next door with its free Shuttle to the Terminals next morning.
If arriving by train, there are very frequent Red Buses that go from the Terminals before travelling along Bath Rd with regular stops in the Hotel area. It is Tap on with your card and I believe, £1.75. The 111 and I believe, the 105.

Having said that, Prem Inn no longer seems to do value and are seemingly pricing themselves towards better quality options. Their formerly very good Meal deals have also escalated in price and their bar prices are too high.

In October, we are voting with our feet and using the Renaissance instead. If you have a ‘Superior’ room, then you also get a view of the Runway. Dibbers seem to like this option.

Breakfast? It doesn’t matter for us as we are flying Club with BA, thus having access to their Lounge.

We did Premier Inn at T4 and walked along the corridor and then took the tube. It worked well for us.

I always book a Premier Plus room at the Premier Inn Terminal 2 and 3 and then order a taxi to take me to the Virgin Upper Class Wing in the morning. That's where I'll be staying again in June and managed to get a Plus room for £54. They have a good deal on at the moment 😃
