Don’t know about current ones but I remember watching a Space Shuttle taking off years ago and it was great

We enjoyed it, had a distant view but good to see it and hear the sonic boom. Enjoyed an hour of warm evening sun on the beach too

... and in years to come, you can say you did. I woke both of my kids up and my nephews to watch launches over the years.

I think it would definitely be worth seeing.
We saw a space shuttle launch years ago and it was probably one of the most spectacular things I have ever experienced. It was more special as it was a night launch so was dark. |

Getting Excited

Last August we were picking up our tickets at the Kennedy Space Centre entrance gate one morning and the staff member casually said, "if you look over there, a space x rocket is about to go up"...
Sure enough, moments later we saw one go up by pure chance! Was amazing to see it break through the sound barrier followed by a sonic boom! I was also lucky enough to see one of the shuttles go up back in 2007... Amazing experience! |

I was on a cruise this year and we saw a Falcon 9 go up from just outside of the exclusion zone off the KSC shoreline; definitely a bucket list item. Currently SpaceX are putting up at least 1 a week so at this cadence odds are you are more likely to see at least 1 launch. I am hoping to see a Falcon Heavy or Vulcan Centaur go up next year but my optimism knows no bounds.
https://nextspaceflight.com/ is the site to watch for all scheduled launches. |

I always regretted not being able to watch one of the Shuttles launch - I think one of the last scheduled launches was during a previous holiday of ours, but it was delayed a few weeks which meant we missed it

The rocket launches are cool but wished I’d seen a shuttle go up! On my last trip I had Space 220 booked but the same night there was a rocket launch, thought I’d rather see a proper rocket go up instead so cancelled and went to KSC by uber! Went the Marriott Titusville roof bar to watch, it was so worth it!

It depends very much on the Rocket.
A Shuttle was astonishing and I guess that SLS is too. A Falcon Heavy must also be impressive and when it moves from Texas, I don’t doubt that Musks Space X Starship will be spectacular.

Definitely worth seeing, though I think I was more excited than the kids!
There was a SpaceX Falcon (I think) launch on our penultimate day in February this year. We had been to the KSC a week earlier and so watched it from distance from inside Epcot in the early evening. Still a great thing to witness, but next time I think we'd like to get closer. |
