We always have a car, offsite or onsite. Just like the freedom. We stayed at Saratoga Springs and All Star Movies in Dec last year and didn't have a dining plan as prefer to pay as we go and go offsite. We did buy the refillable mugs at SSR and used them at ASM too, we went on a tour of different resorts and took our mugs with us, saved us so much money. We went to Walmart & stocked up too, plus brought a cheap $10 kettle.

If and when we go back to Disney we will not get the dining plan, we had it a few times when the kids were little for character meals etc, but now they're older and sometimes just myself and my husband, it's not worth it (we also don't need/want 14 day tickets at the moment) so it works out better for us. Never used the magical express when we've been anyway as always fly into Miami or Tampa so have the car.

I would not be without a car, I don’t like using public transport don’t mind report to park busses but not airport to hotel etc.

I don’t want a holiday where I fly to an airport get transported to a hotel stay in a bubble and get taken back to the airport in a fortnight.

We go all over the place by car we have full flexibility ad you say Walmart and better dining options we go to the outlets, Florida mall, gatoland, baseball in Tampa, KSC .

But we also always have a car in Vegas which most people think is a no no

We stayed here in February and here’s my take on your questions:

- refillable mug included in the dining plan and can be used at any resort hotel. Also ok to use for coffee in the morning (which I is where I used it the most). You can use it as many times as you like all day and night (albeit the restaurant in ASM does close at 11ish and reopen at 6am). We didn’t get that much use from these as the QSDP included a fountain soda that was refillable anyway but it was good for coffee anyway in the morning

- we used a private transfer to/from MCO who we booked with directly and it was great. The magical bus was missed but the buses around the resort that serve ASM are excellent and frequent

- we had the QSDP and it more than covered 4 of us (2 adults 2 kids) for the whole stay. We used some snack credits for breakfast items from the hotel which was useful.

- we didn’t have a car but used garden grocer to pre order water, beer and snacks. These were delivered to bell services on our arrival day - once we checked in bell services brought it all to our room for $6

Hope that helps - we are going to book for next year too but waiting for the dining plan offer to come out, hopefully in April

I think the car is a personal preference. Personally I hate driving, so it's the last thing I want to do on holiday. You can do an online order and have that delivered to the hotel. It might be worth pricing up a hire car vs private transfer.

We found we definitely got our moneys worth with the refillable resort mug. We only used them at All Stars Movies but as someone said previously you can use them at any resort. There's no need to leave the park and refill them. Every quick service location gives out free ice water. Some people have a problem with the taste, but I found it fine and, to be honest, it was just nice to have a cold drink!

The dining plan you get at all stars doesn’t include the free refill mug
That is included on the moderates dinings plan, the values only get the qs credit which doesn’t include the mug unless anybody would like to tell me different , we’re off this year staying value and our dining plan doesn’t include it .

Unless you’re thinking off buying the plan ?

I'm fairly certain that Values get the refillable mug.

As for the car - absolutely personal choice.

I like to be taken everywhere on holiday. I drive enough for work etc.

Staying onsite this year, we'll be very happy to take the buses or friendship boats (we're in Riverside).

Uber to WalMart, Outlet Village and Celebration and to/from the airport will do us nicely. We think we'll save a lot by not having to Uber to the parks.

Depends how far/how often you want to get out and about.

You can upgrade your free qs meal plan with the value resorts to get the mug or buy the mug seperately if you want. With value resorts you only get 1 qs meal a day
