Well they’ve spun you a line about Disney. They will allow you to add a room and keep dining plan on the original booking. They treat the second room as a new booking which is booked under whatever offer is on at the time. Virgin could easily have done that but presumably this is because you booked a package?

I think that’s poor service. They should’ve told you that before you went ahead with it! Xx

I’d be taking it further . As sha9 says Disney would have just added you a room on and kept the other booking . I don’t mind buying flights with virgin but I learnt to always book direct with Disney as they will really try to get you the best deal on the end . I’m guessing virgin charged more for less as well . I’m sorry they did that to you 🙁

I called Disney as well and they said there is nothing they can do as I didnt book with them. I did say to Virgin it’s ridiculous as I could have just booked another room with someone else. They didn’t really have an answer to that one!

I’d put in a written complaint.

Did you get the free nights and discounted Disney tickets offer that’s on now instead? If so hopefully that’ll make up a bit for the loss of the dinning plan?

Kat

Disney won’t ever do anything if you booked with a third party. Your only options are to accept the new booking or make a formal complaint.

As said, presumably you got the free nights offer?

Did you call to make the original change? Or was it in store?

Either way the point everyone is trying make, and the one that you should be having a go at virgin for, is that they didn’t tell you that you would lose the dining plan before making the change for you. It’s huge. That’s what you should be complaining about to Virgin (not Disney, it’s nothing to do with them). Virgin should be reinstating your original booking and then you book a separate room elsewhere. You shouldn’t be letting this go. Dining plan for 4 adults is a lot of $$$.

I already had tickets booked with the original package so I’m not sure. I saved money on the additional room with Virgin as I checked on the Disney website and booking a room separately would have only given me one free night as I’m staying at a value resort

I just want to echo what everyone else is saying, please ring Virgin back and ask to speak with management, I would be explaining to them that you wasn’t informed you would lose your DDP ( which equates to a lot if money) if you added on another room and had you known you would of booked a second room direct with Disney.
I would ask them to either give you back your DDP or ask them to take the second room off and give you back your original booking.
Let them know you will take this to the very top.
I wish you the best of luck. 🤞
