Virgin...do upgrade prices fluctuate?

A week ago booked flights premium both ways. Upgrade to upper class one way was £520pp. Was going to book last night, price is up to 668pp. Is there a chance this will go down or does it only ever go up? I fear I may have missed the boat. But not sure whether upgrade prices fluctuate (well...clearly they go up, not sure they ever go down). For September this year. Thanks

Yes, they do vary A LOT. I'd been checking for a return leg upgrade, and it ranged from £560 to over £1000 per person over the last couple of months! 😲

Wow okay thanks. I'll keep an eye and hope for a decrease! 🤞

Yep I went from economy to Premium and was £388 one day I checked another day and it was £153 so I snapped it up for my return journey as I know it gives me more room and its on a350 and its only 2 seats whereas economy is 3.

I wouldn’t. It’s often less than that if you just book it in the first place. £100 max for me.

Where do you guys see these prices, is it an instant upgrade button? I see the bid for upgrade but is it on the app, on the website, if I don't see it, is it because there are none available? TIA

You don't think £170 return is a good price for an upgrade from Economy to Premium?

I think that's an amazing price.

I think they are saying it was that for the RETURN journey only. Not both ways.

I also wouldn’t pay that as the return journey is usually a lot cheaper due to much less tax etc.
