E-sim

Hi
I'm sure I'll get a better answer on here than google.
I would like to get an e-sim on my phone with some data and some calls, so I can make local calls whilst in the US.
My problem is, I don't know where to start. Does it interfere with my physical sim? I haven't a clue. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on your phone’s compatibility you can get T Mobile monthly prepaid esim. You get a US phone number with unlimited calls and texts and a data allowance. You choose how much data you want when you install the esim. It’s compatible with all the newish iPhone models

If you are making WhatsApp or FaceTime audio calls then you can get any eSIM out there. There are free eSIMs from Verizon

Or you can use Airalo or hubby.

If you want to swap out your sim then you can use 3 PAYG but make sure you activate in uk first 👍

Hiya,

I used airalow in September and it worked great.

Check on your phone settings you can use an esim. Download the app, choose your plan and then when you're ready to use it,download it onto your phone. You can then set it as your primary sim. I think I turned off my UK sim as I ended up with 2 lots of signals etc showing on my home screen.

If you look out for sales you can buy them anytime and then just download them before you go. The days don't start to tick down until you download. You do this through the app.

Em

Airalo is great for an eSIM but only gives data. I tried to use T-mobile one year as I wanted the phone number but it didn’t work for me. No idea what went wrong and it’s put me off because I don’t know if it would happen again. I found once I'd bought it there wasn’t really any information.

Airalo offer a sim with both data and calls now. We purchased once for our last trip in case we needed to make any emergency calls. I think if you receive incoming calls on it that comes off your minutes.

I’ve had a look on the app and can see the option but there’s no information about it. Do you get a number?

This option seems really expensive now? I can’t find the $10 option.

Tried to install the Verizon app, but as my google store is set to UK it wouldn't let me download it. Tried @ home with a vpn and fake GPS still no go, I might try to change my address, but I think there is a limit on how many time you can change it a year
