Disney VIP tours
Considering doing a guided tour for our trip. Has anyone used a tour company and who do you recommend? Was it worth the additional expense? Thanks

Me and my daughter did the Disney Sum of All Thrills Tour one year. I can’t remember how much it was. Expensive. We did have a blast of a day though and I’d highly recommend it. We skipped the line for some big rides as three parks and got to see some fascinating back stage areas. Our guide was amazing and gave us lots of information and facts. Not for the faint hearted though it went at a pace. However. Unless a tour guide could get me to the front of the queues I wouldn’t pay as there isn’t anything else they can do that you can’t work out for yourself, unless of course it’s a particular Disney four which shows you things and does things you can’t do under your own steam.

Only Disney do tours at Disney world, any other 3rd party tour company won't be doing anything different to what you could do yourself.
As to cost, that would come down to what you value and is a personal choice.

We've done the official Disney private VIP guided tour a few times, usually if we're bringing someone for the first time and want them to get the most out of it.
The last time we did it, it was about $500/hr and bookable at 407-560-4033 Naturally it's as amazing as you'd expect. You pre-plan your day(s) and tell them everything you want to ride/see. Then they suggest loads of things as well. On the day they send a private car for you and your Disney tour guide(s) meet you at the first park. They take the group round to hit all the things you want to, usually via side entrances, occasionally offsite to avoid busy spots. VIP areas at every show including fireworks. We've never had a bad tour guide and they've always treated us like movie stars. Last time one of our group realised they'd forgotten their SD card for their camera, the guide overheard and 3 minutes later a CM appeared with a free card. Other times we've mentioned an unobtainable princess costume or some trinket and it's magically appeared. Ok, yep, it's a lot of money but if you're willing to spend it, it's a fantastic way to see everything. |
