remember that in order to get free parking, you'll need to upgrade to at least a preferred pass. Seasonnal won't give you free parking, and power pass will get you half off parking

We are looking to upgrade in October this year for next September next year and we have the 3 park 14 day ticket but not sure I understand what a 3 park preferred pass is, we are looking to stay at the Cabana Bay again next year would we get any discounts and when would it start, we would be using it from 7 October this year, thank you

there are 4 levels (or tier) for APs (prices are for the 3 parks AP)

seasonnal : cheapest $403+tax, lots of blockout dates, no free parking, little to no discounts, except hotels

power : more expensive at $463+tax, blockout dates, 50% off parking, large discounts

preferred : more expensive at $503+tax, less blockout dates, free parking at citywalk, more discounts

premier : highest tier AP, the most expensive at $
733+ tax, no blockout dates, express single after 4pm

note that no AP will get you free parking at CBBR (or any hotel), you'll stiil pay the parking fee ($14 a night at CBBR)

you might get discounts on the room.
Discounts will ofter appear 3 months out, they may not be available on all room categories, and they may not be available at all
check by using APH promo code on the Loewshotels website

if your stay is 6 or more nights long, there is little chance an AP discount will be more interesting than the SMSM rate you can book in advance (Stay More Save More, that has the same level of disocunt = 30/35% on stays 7 nights and over

so if your stay is 7 nights long or more, the AP discount will be negated by the permanent promo (SMSM)

you will also get discounts over mechandise and food ,depending on the level of AP
benefits per AP type : universalorlando/web...ses/uoap-types

if you upgrade your ticket to AP, you will start benefiting from discounts from the day you upgrade
your AP will start on the day the upgraded ticket started

so if you first use your ticket on Oct 7th 2019, and only upgrade on the 12th for example, your AP will still expire on Oct 8th 2020

if you have a 3 parks explorer ticket, the team member may insist you upgrade to a 3 parks AP, and escpecially so if you've already entered volcano bay

If you manage to upgrade to a 2 parks AP you will lose volcano bay

You will pay the difference between what you paid for the original ticket to what the current price is for the pass that you want. Remember thou that it also relies on that days exchange rate
