I meant BAT houses not bars blooming autocorrect strikes again, the only place the mozzies bothered me was at the dock outside Contemporary Resort whilst waiting to take a boat over the water to Wilderness Lodge. Oh boy did they love to bite my ankles and yes I used dryer sheets and it didn’t deter them for me. We weren’t even out there that long but it was dusk so maybe the bats hadn’t woken up right then. Luckily I took some insect bite cream to alleviate the skin reaction and used cold flannels to get the swelling down and took antihistamines to be sure it calmed down quickly.

I have been bitten in Florida and reacted quite badly needing intramuscular antibiotic injections and oral antibiotics. I now use picaridin which is supposed to be as good as deet but with less side effects and no smell. It seems to work well I must say though I have had success with Avon skin so soft as well.
